The Gills have added a coat of Wood Iron about every 3 or 4 years for the past 11 years to their log sided home. When the siding is pressure washed, no wood fibers are forced out due to the bonding of the resins in Wood Iron. Most wood looses fibers when pressure washed. Wood Iron has helped keep their home looking new & almost halted any aging of the wood. "It looks great," said Mary.

This restoration project involves a 30 - 40 year old log home. Many of the logs show deep cracks, excess bark, log ends that are badly damaged. Proper restoration greatly slows or stops further wood damage from water, insects and sun. This job is in progress, as no finished pictures are yet available.

This project included refinishing the 3 story log/log sided home and deck. The home had weathered for several years without any protection. This wood was fairly easy to clean and brighten. However, the deck and rails had recently been painted with a wood colored latex paint. The paint was very difficult to remove. We had to use a liquid deck stripper, pressue wash and then sand/hand sand all of the rails to remove the old finish - a very labor intensive task. However the end result displayed the beauty of the log rails & protects them as well.
