| This project involves removing all of the paint from the siding, deck & rails, & facia. To remove the old surface, we must cob blast the siding. This technique involves a 185 CFS air compressor & a cob blasing machine. Bits of ground up corn cob are blasted at the walls, as with sand blasting. The surface paint is removed, leaving the natural wood siding. The surface is then sanded to remove paint around the knots. Two coats of wood iron is applied.
To remove the paint from the deck, we will dismantle the deck & rails. The paint will then be sanded off on a machine called a "Time Saver". It will handle up to 6 - 2X6 decking planks - a real time saver. All of the baulisters, planks & cap rails will be sanded to new wood. Then two coats of Wood Iron will be applied. |
